Abstract. This paper describes the design and testing of an axial induction controller implemented on a row nine turbines Sedini wind farm in Sardinia, Italy. work was performed as part EU Horizon 2020 research project CL-Windcon. An engineering wake model, selected for its good fit to historical SCADA data from site, used LongSim code optimise turbine power reduction setpoints large matrix steady-state conditions. The were incorporated into dynamic control algorithm capable running on-site using available condition estimates turbines. complete tested time-domain simulations LongSim, time-varying field generated met mast site. on-site, with toggled off at 35 min intervals allow performance without be compared comparable Data collected between July 2019 early February 2020. results have been analysed indicate positive increase energy production resulting control, line model predictions, although larger volume valid would necessary provide statistically robust conclusions. measurements also validation proving value both setpoint optimisation simulation performance.
